Electric Toothbrush
Dental hygiene is number one on my to-do list. Or should I call it my to-groom list? You can neglect your hair and you can neglect your shaving ritual, but just DON’T neglect your choppers. Bad oral hygiene will get you nowhere in this world. The only folks interacting with you will be the ones passing you a Tic-Tac with a scowl of disgust on their face. So, now that we’ve got that all cleared up, onto the regimen itself. You’ll be glad to know that there is a plethora of cavity prevention products at your fingertips now days. From the Glide dental floss to the popular electric toothbrush, you truly can’t go wrong here.
What is the deal with brushing? Is it a once before bed kind of ritual, or should it be done right three times each day? Much of this depends on you and your pearly whites. If you ask me, brushing is a morning, noon, and night type of routine. And don’t forget about the flossing each night as well. Grooming and cleaning your teeth properly is imperative because you only get one pair, and you want them to look great. No one can argue with this. Well, no one in the United States anyway. Now, what about the technology? Is an electric toothbrush really better or more effective than a standard inexpensive drugstore brand toothbrush? Actually, yes it is. At least this is what my dentist tells me. He said if you can afford to purchase one of the new Sonic or Braun electric toothbrushes, then go for is. Their small heads and vibrating motion remove plaque and tarter splendidly. Also, they may provide you with a brighter smile if you use the right kind of toothpaste.
I’ve had my experience with the Braun electric toothbrush, and have to say it’s a keeper. I love the way the brushing head is round, unlike standard toothbrushes. This allows it to get in between teeth a bit better and reach those small, further back areas. Consider this before you run out and buy another standard toothbrush. You may not be getting the clean you need. The kind of teeth polishing that only comes from an electric toothbrush. Hey, it’s just a thought! Your teeth are worth the extra effort.
